Cultivated Abalone brings major revenues for CiMei residents. Since the successful tests by Lyu, CiZong in Year 70th of Republic of China (1981), 13 fish farms in CiMei were sequently established, including Lyu,CiHuei, Lyu, ChengJhih, Lyu, ChengWang, Lyu,JhihYi, Liou, JhihJhong, Jhu, ShunJian, Ye, JhangMao, Lyu,CiYan, Li,JianSing, o(06-9971424.219),Lyu,CiYan(06-9971733), Li,JianSing(06-9971931), Jheng, BaiHong, Sia, WunJhou, and Jhang, SuJhong from north to south airport, clustering around airport nearby PingHe Village to form as an “Abalone special zone”. In a current, fish farming of Abalone greatly contributes economy and employment in CiMei.
CiMei Abalone can be divided into two kinds, including Pearl Abalone, feeding by Pea Shoots planted in Taiwan, and Emerald Abalone by special feedingstuff. Apart from fish farming, the farmers can cultivate their own seeds both for self-use and exporting to Taiwan or MaGong Island.
Clear and uncontainminated sea around CiMei provide unique environments to grow fresh Abalone with good reputation. During these years, Country Office have been devoted to promotion, such as yearly tasting festivals in July or August and Abalone Banquet this year.
