The villagers of Chimei could see the scenery of the ˇ§wall curtainsˇ¨ in lots of houses. The wall curtain is situated in the front yard of the house or one side of the vacant lot. It is right opposite to the entrance. The wall curtain, in the same size with the entrance, is to avoid the vicious things entering into the house. Generally speaking, the house angle, the intersection, the drain, the wire pole and etc., in front of the house will be malignant to the spirit tablet and cause all things go unsmoothly or all members become unhealthy. Some villagers settle the spirit tablet of their ancestors on the second floor, they will also site the wall curtain on the balcony in the second floor.
The building material of the wall curtain is either hollow brick or red brick spreading smoothly with cement. The brick, uncolored and undecorated, is in a long flat shape with the height of 200- 250 centimeters, the width of 150 - 200 centimeters, and the thickness of 20-22 centimeters.
