Taiwan Power Station installed two sets of commercial 100KW US Wind Power to generate electric power by utilizing the natural wind in 1981. Though this act was failed, it was the earliest and most pioneering act in testing how the wind power generates in Taiwan. The two windmills in disrepair stand still tall and straight inside the wind power plant in the east ridge of Chimei island for the tourists to view and admire.
Fenchazai, in the opposite bank of the east cliff of Chimei windmill, is a habitat of the seabirds in Chimei. Not many people know this place. The tourists could stay temporarily to observe the hover of the seabirds.

Chimei Windmill is situated between the Stone Carving Lion and Micro Taiwan. Due to it has been built for more than ten years, the ferroconcrete is corroding and falling by the salt damag of the northeast monsoon. The tourists could only observe the windmill from far. It is not allowed for the tourists to enter into the fence to have a close view. Watch out your head
