There has been a miserable legend: ”There was a couple, they loved each very much. The husband went fishing on the sea everyday, he always went out very early and came back very late. The wife was used to wait for his husband’s back at the sea very evening. One day, the storm blew tempestuously and the waves rolled violently. She was so discomposed to await her husband for one night. She waited continuously. Three days past, she could not sustain herself anymore and faint unconsciously at the sea. It was too late for people to find her. Many years past, the rock miraculously formed as a human being, especially the notable rock makes it as a pregnant woman. People thought that the rock is the incarnation of the woman who always surveyed his husband.”
People could observe this scenery of a rock shaped as a pregnant woman from the pavilion southwards, if the time is available, you can also climb to the Surveying-Husband Rock to overlook the coming and going vessels and seabirds. Walking along the feet of the pregnant woman rock, people could find a little cement bridge where is one of the famous fishing farms in Chimei.

The Surveying- husband Pagoda is located at the distance of 650 meters from Nanhu Port southeastward. It takes people six minutes from the port by vehicle. The tourists could take the tour bus, rent the scooters and take a taxi. The tourists could look the down the full view from the pavilion, look far northeastward to see a place as the crest of an hawk which is called “Yingguan” and look westward to see the different views of Chimei Lighthouse, The tourists could also walk eastward about five minutes, there is a path to Surveying- husband Pagoda to experience in surveying a husband and to see people angling sometimes.
