Winter is the invasion season of North East monsoon, and the abundant production period of vegetables. Therefore building vegetable houses can resist the wind. Among the produced vegetables, they are mainly cabbage、cauliflower、big turnips、Chinese cabbage、Chinese
mustard、spinach、green onion、garlic、lettuce、rape、celery、hyacinth bean、carrot、white carrot、tomato etc. Among them, except general use, cabbage、Cauliflower and big turnips can be cut into pieces, then put into glass bottles after they are dried, becoming the food in summer when there are less vegetables or the gift to relatives and friends.

Therefore, vegetable houses have become the essential for the residents in daily life, and the feature of Chimei culture circle.
