Mandarin Ducks Cave, located in the north of the east coast of Wangan Island, is a river valley with an east-to-west trend. Its entrance is opposite to Maanyu across a strait in the width of 600 meters.  Because the cave could offer the place as a shelter from the wind and the shallow wells could provide plenty ofwater, this place could offer as a campground.  The platform with marine abrasion in front of the cave is fitting and proper for people to pick up conchesand go fishing.  There is a remaining historic relic of caves where hid Japanese Army.  The cave buried countless blood, tears and sweat of the islanders of Wangan and Jiangjunao Islands.  Japanese still fought desperately as cornered beasts and used all their armed might to indulge in wars of aggression in the last phases of taking possession of Taiwan.  They chose Mandarin Docks Cave to be the Navy base of torpedo boats (Special Attack Team) due to the hidden landforms with a protective screen of Maanyu As a result, Japanese Government commanded the villagers of Wangan and Jiangjunao Villages to build the basement night and day in 1994.  At the time that the construction was almost finished after it has started for more than one year, Japanese Government has announced surrender without any conditions.  This basement was junked.  Although there has been many caves collapsed up to today, the relics could still be found.  From the point of view of history, this cave was an irrefutable evidence to show that Japanese Government has invaded us and carried out high-pressure dominion on us.

2. Please obey the traffic rulers and do not exceed the speed limit while driving into Mandarin Ducks Cave due to the bad condition of descending slope.
3. In the season of northeast trades in winter, there are wasted materials drifting from the sea to Mandarin Ducks Cave caused the grubbiness and mess along the beach. Hope the tourists give assistance to clean the beach actively.
