Zhongshe Village is located in a cove of the
middle westward of Wangan Island. There is a hill between
the two main villages, big Huazhai and small Huazhai. The
villagers called it as ¡§Huaxin¡¨. As a result, the past name
of Zhongshe was Huazhai. The population flowed out
seriously and early, lots of villagers moved before the
restoration of Taiwan. Unlike traditional residences, most
of the houses have not been dismantled and rebuilt. The
shape of the villages still reminds complete, most of the
buildings are traditional trinity houses which is maintained
pretty well. This village may be the most complete,
well-preserved fishing village in Taiwan. The residences in
Zhongshe Village are about one hundred and fifty-one;
however, most of them are damaged seriously due to the lack
of maintenance. World Memorials Foundation listed it as one
of the 100 imminently dangerous excavations in 2003, and
this behavior caused the government to respect positively on
the maintenance |
