Oriental pickling melon as the economic planting in WangAn Country, origins from China and tropical Asian countries, and appears scattered in PengHu Islands, where WangAn Country shares most.  Residents in WangAn incline to make pickles with orient pickling melon, as the tradition past generations by generations.  Less rain and poor soil, without fluidization, WangAn is suitable for growing oriental pickling melons.  The farming process for the Melon includes seeding and transferring, branch trimming, fertilization, harvest (Term I planting during January and February and harvest From March to May, Term II planting in May and harvest from June to August in lunar calendar), and preserving seeds (melons used to be planted seeds shall be picked up till vines dry).  Procedures for making pickles cover picking up, cleaning, cutting, sun dry, salt kneading, and putting in bottles.  Some improvements for pickle making are completed to develop it as special products and exports of WangAn, with incomes not ignorable for farmers.  Furthermore, residents may think about building their own brand marks and marketing.
