  description¡G

Erkang Village is located in the a concave between east and west highlands.  It could effectively avoid the strong northeast trades in winter, and that¡¦s why it is called Erkan Village (Kan means highland). The surname of this village is only ¡§Chen¡¨. Some said that the ancestor Chenyanyi moved to Dachijiao from Xiakeng of Kingman in Shenzhi Period of Ching Dynasty. When the generation has gone to the third one, they remove to the present address because of more and more descendants born and the living of agriculture and fishing.  The arrangement of the residences in the village is so neat as a comb-style.  The whole village maintains the original appearance.  There are at least twenty traditional old residences with combined yard which could represent a landscape of local anthropogeography.
