Chen-heng was born in the year 1982, died at
1966, aged 75. Chen came from He-jie village of Xi-yu. He
went to the old-style private school when he was young,
studying Chinese for a decade. During the Japanese rule,
serving to make Chinese Culture available to all, he set up
studies at
places like Xi-yu, Zhu gao Bay, He-jie-tou
etc. Chen taught for more than ten years, then posted as a
clerk under the Tithing System for 28 years, solving lots of
difficulties for local people. After the Restoration, he
took the post of He-jie village head and the township
representative of Xi-yu, assisting the implementation of
Government decree. Later, Chen was elected as the first
village head and he devoted himself in local construction
even more. Chen was enthusiastic in public welfare, being
happy in doing good throughout his life thus still praised
hitherto. |
