Lin Yu, Lin¡¦s father, was born in Tachihkan and Hsiao, her mother, was born in Kangwei. During World War ¢º, Lin came back to Magong after just finishing the study in Japan to practice medicine and help people and retired in the age of 80. For the 56 years, she had a great amount of contributions to Penghu¡¦s medical treatment. Lin was the only female doctor in early stage of Penghu County, and people all called her ¡§Tsa Mou doctor¡¨ in the local. Lin treated patients as her relatives. Early days she often rode on her bicycle around to see patients in all weathers. She had been to as far as offshore islands and her kindness and charity extended to everywhere in the county. Lin has a conscientious, careful and practical character. She put a great emphasis on education in daily life. She didn¡¦t like entertainment but only like needlework and sewing. When she had free time, she often made clothes for her children. Visiting patients often saw that the female doctor was stitching and mending clothes in the clinic and could not take a rest even for a second. She was diligent and cherished things. She had both medical ethics and mother ethics and was resound as a story passed on with approval.
