The middle and old age villagers in Baisha Township all can talk a section of interesting stories about White Rabbit.The White Rabbit cotton socks famous around middle and south area were invented by Cheng. Cheng was short and weak during his childhood. He would throw up so badly whenever he went sailing with his father that he left his hometown and went to Tainan learning textile with Japanese. After Taiwan¡¦s restoration, he took over the factory to found his own business of Chenta Textile Company and named the brand ¡§White Rabbit¡¨ as the homonym of ¡§puke¡¨ in Taiwanese to encourage himself that he had to do all his best to run the business or the only way was going back to Penghu as a fisherman. It had therefore become a interesting story among hometown people.After succeed in his carrier, he also enthusiastically contributed to his hometown in return. Most of the employees are from his hometown. The early-agreed activity center of Tungliang Village was built by him. There were once 2 cement white rabbits placed in front of the old door of Tungliang Paoan Temple. It was also decorated with a pair of rabbits on the wall inside the temple. They were all in memory and gratitude of Cheng.
