Houliao Community is also named Chengming Community, and the
activity center is Chengming Hall, all in memory of the big
amount of money donated by Yeh, Piao that completed the simple
tap-water facilities and community construction of Houliao.
Yeh¡¦s ancestor register was Cloud Hill of Kingmen. He lost his
father at the age of 9 and was a cowboy in his childhood since
his family was poor. He followed a private school teacher Chang
Peng in Watong to study Four Books and Five scriptures when he
was 13. He was elected as Houliao village Baocheng at the age of
43, and went to Tatsang Islet to found a traditional private
school when he was 45. He was always respected by hometown
people. After Taiwan¡¦s restoration, he was more enthusiastic for
social public welfare business. He died at 106 as a rare
long-lived person in Penghu County. |
