description of terrainˇG

Wave piled terrain is the terrain that waves and flood continuously pour to the shore and erode it; then move the collapsed rock pieces into adequate places and pile up. Magong City mainly has two sea pile-up terrains, one is beach and the beaches of Guanyin pavilion, Shihli and Shanshui are the typical ones. The spotlessly white bay formed for months and years by ocean currentsˇ¦ power extends to living activities and a place for summer recreation. Except for beach, the other one is gravel beach piled up by rocks such as the one on the west side of Fengkuei Snake Head Mountain. Another terrain is a land-tied island. The lands separated by wave erosion or islands originally separated from each other combine to a connected island later by the pile-up. The terrain from Shihli to Fengkueiwei peninsula, Jutsaichien Mountain and Huching Islet is the typical model of land-tied islands.

geological descriptionˇG

Beach is known as the place with the pile-up of unglued matters (such as sand, rock and soil etc.) It is divided into gravel and sand. Sand is composed of pieces of coral, shell, worms and few amounts of quartz, basalts and soil etc. Gravel is composed of basalt rocks. Land-tied islands are composed of coral fragments, shell sand or soil, and rocks. Huching Islet is composed of coral fragments and shell connecting East Mountain and West Mountain. Shihli and Fengkuei Peninsula are formed by the connection of three isthmuses.
