Walking on
Zhangshan Road and passing through Shuixian
Temple, people could see a green building,
which was an old post office in
Japan-control period and is a place for the
telephone and telegraph office to perform
the business of public telephone. The
feature of the building is its designs of
two-slope roof, which has
remained
since Japan-control period. The appearance
of the roof is just like a helmet of
Japanese general when people observe the
appearance of the roof from outside. This
building evidences the developing process of
telecommunications and postal affairs in
Pengfu.Opposite
to the building is a sea police station
built at the same time to be in charge of
the
inspection of leaving port and harboring
business of the vessels. This building now
still maintains the original appearance. |
