Makung Port is the first commodity port located at the port near to the building of harbor bureau.  The freighters, Taihua steamers and the Tomorrow Star Steamers, which travel to and fro Taiwan, are the main scenery in the port.  People could feel strong vitality from daily communication and cargo transit.  Especially, Taihua Steamers concurrently carries passengers and transports cargoes, the scenery of either leaving or harboring make people have different feelings of parting or meeting.The conditions of the coming and going of people and vehicles come and go, the loading and unloading of the cargoes, and the boarding and landing of the stream of people make Makung Port a spirit symbol in Pengfu.  People could see local livelihood from the scenery of Makung Port and image the relationship between Makung and its port is so compactly either in the past of at the present.
