Wuder Village is located at the northeast
bank of Fenggui Peninsula in Pengnan Area, which faces
Caiyuan, Shiquan across Makung inner gulf northwards,
neighbors with Suogang eastwards, nears Shanshui and
Jingan southwards and situates in the center of Pengnan
Area. Wuder was named ˇ§Jimuwuˇ¨ before. People said
that there has been a hill shaped as a chicken nest,
which was similar to a hen setting eggs. In 1951, the
government carried out the communalistic policy and
named it as ˇ§Wuder Villageˇ¨. According to the narration
of the villagers, the name of ˇ§Wuderˇ¨ was originated
from the five virtues of chicken. Most of the
residences are located at the west of the county road.
People could also see part of complete traditional
unity-yard residence as well as traditional building
materials (stone, lime and old slab) and decorations
(colored drawing, block and stone carvings.) Besides,
there are weirs along the bank that belonged to the
temple. There is a cannon remained by Japanese at the
southeast of the village, which is one of the two
cannons in Pengfu. |

Slow down and watch out the passengers while
entering the community due to the narrow alley. The
residences are private, please do not burst into without
admittance, destroy the residence and steal the cultural and
historical relics. It is better to visit here before
afternoon to avoid any interruption of daily schedule of the
villagers. The cannon has not managed yet. It is easy for
the pits around the cannon to accumulate water after
raining. The tourists had better take a far view of it and
not to near the cannon to keep away from any dangers. There
is no board and lodging here, the tourists had better to
consider journey to and fro at the same day. |
