PenNan Branch Library, subordinated to Cultural Bureau of PengHu
County Government, is located in SuoGang Borough. The
construction is commenced on Nov 20th of Year 90 of
ROC, and sequent software is completed with total term of one
year and three months. The Library accommodates one floor below
ground and two floors on ground, the below floor as
electromechanical distribution space, the first floor as
library, including front desk, shelf, periodical division,
multimedia room, reading room, children specific space, office
and reception room, treasury collection room, and toilets, and
the second floor as multi-functional performance and conference
place. Besides, outdoor space is designed for outdoor
performance area, parking lot, and open space and garden. The
watching terrace of wave-shaped roof and Shih-kan-tang (a stone
tablet, erected at the entrance of a lane, etc, to drive away
misfortune or evil spirit) image, symbols local characters of
SuoGang villages and appears the new landmark in south PengHu
area. The Library collects over 5,000 volumes of adult books,
500 children books, expected increasing to 20,000 volumes at the
end of Year 92 of ROC, 103 kinds of periodicals, 500 reference
books, 400 pieces of multi-media data (above quantities of March
in Year 92 keep increasing) , and ten sets equipped with DVD,
VCD, video tape players. |
