Scientific Hall subordinated to Cultural Bureau, includes three
floors with 280 square meters on the first floor, 280 on the
second, and 121 on the third, with its special characters on
astronomical equipments and reuse of interior space. The first
floor as special exhibition area, exhibits local cultural
characters or collections loaned from main museums of Taiwan
(such as National Palace Museum and National Museum of Natural
Science), as well as the place for school outdoor teaching or
local residentsĄŠ cultural exploration. The second floor
includes two divisions, the south part as PengHu Scientific
Friend House, the center of natural resource collection,
research, and survey, where natural lovers gather to complete
basic data establishment and hold irregular activities for
education promotion; and the north part as the permanent
exhibition base, with its topic of whale. The third floor
accommodates astronomical exhibitions and opens for relevant
activities or special astronomical event. |

Important collects of the Hall include the astronomical
telescope on the third floor and the whale specimen on the
second floor. Telescope is used in activities or events, and
the whale specimen is made from a whale grounding in JiBei,
which was buried in Cultural Bureau and uncovered for building
specimen. |
