Holland Castle is located at the peninsula of Fengguili, which is commonly called ¡§Yitoushan¡¨ in Makung. In 1622, Hollanders built it to be a stronghold of commerce. There are the commander¡¦s residences and the barracks inside the castle. In 1624, Ming Court dispatched the army to attack it and made a bargain with Hollanders. The Hollanders should take apart the building materials and transit to Anpin to construct Zerlan¡i¼öÄõ¡jto cover the castle. The soil wall and trenches remained have become the forts for coast defenses for all the past dynasties of governments. Presently the peninsula is full of kinds of plants. It seems hard to discover and recognize the relics.
