Processing industry features most the processing of squid and dried fish. Squid processing is mainly concentrated in the community of Sokang Neighborhood, a main supply place for squid processed products in Magong. Squid is one of the main fisheries of Sokang, and it becomes the main famous product in Magong City’s special products stores with the use of processing. They are packaged one after another. No matter for domestic sale or export, it all has good evaluation, and also the appointed famous product which Taiwan tourists will talk back home when they come to Penghu. This processing industry almost never stops in all seasons. Except in raining days it operates almost everyday. Dried fish processing is most prosperous in Shihli with the main operation period in summer. The fish are Etrumeus tereo and Supo etc, exporting to Taiwan or selling domestically in Magong special products stores. These two processing industry hold the life of residents together, and also an important side job source for women.
