Offshore industry is the fishery activity along the coast. The fishery popularity in Magong is about 30 % of the county, processing the biggest amount of harbors and good facilities all over the Penghu County and also having sale markets with better functions. Pengnan area has the key position including the places such as Sokuang, Shanshui, Fengkuei and Shihli etc. In other places, there are small individual operation boats (such as only with a fishing tackle) including Hsiwei, Chungkuang, and Wukan etc. Cord fishing is most famous in Fengkuei. Fix netting and dragged netting is mainly in Sokuang. And it is mainly Fengchi net fishing in Shihli. For the residents, these offshore fisheries have been important sources of living hood not only providing communities internally, but also targeting Taiwan etc. externally.
