英文摘要: Talwani's two-dimensional modeling was run on the magnetic data of one of the geophysical survey lines of the Penghu sedimentary basin. The result of the model shows that the igneous crust beneath the Penghu sedimentary basin is transitional, which is composed of granite of 10-20km thick with intruded basalt. The model also offers evidence for intermittent extensional tectonic phases in pre-Eocene , early-middle Eocene, and early-middle Miocene. A basaltic dike cutting through the granitic igneous basement is observed in the model. It could be a part of the initial rifting center(s) of the Penghu sedimentary basin.
