中文摘要:本報告為『大陸東南與東北地區晚新生代火山岩的比較研究』三年的總結報告。報告內容包括了四個部分 :大陸東南澎湖地區的研究成果、已發表於國立台灣大學理學院地質學系研究報告第三十一期(1994);及東北長白山火山的三篇研究成果:一篇已被接受,即將出版於中國地質學會會刊第四十一期第三號(1998),另一篇發表於美國地球物理1996年秋季年會,最後一篇即將於今年七月西太平洋地球物理年會中發表。
英文摘要: This is the final report of three years' project "The study and comparison of late Cenozoic volcanic rocks in the southeastern and northeastern China". This report includes four papers. The first is the result of the Penghu volcanic rocks in the southeastern China and has been published in the Acta Geologica Taiwanica, no.31, 1994. The other three are the results of the Changbeishan volcanic rocks in the northeastern China . One has been accepted and will be published in the Journal Geological Society of China, volume 41, no.3, 1988. The other two have been presented in the 1996 Fall Meeting of American Geophysical Union and will be presented in the Western Pacific Geophysical Meeting in Taipei , 1988, respectively.

中文摘要:台灣西部麓山帶與澎湖列島之鹼性玄武岩乃是中新世大陸板塊內部火山活動的產物。在新竹關西 ---竹東與澎湖列島二十餘地區,鹼性玄武岩含為數不少的巨晶、地函包體和下部地殼之基性粒變岩包體。由粒變岩、尖晶石二輝橄欖岩和石榴二輝橄欖岩之探討將可瞭解並推測台灣地區大陸地殼岩石圈之結構。
英文摘要: Basaltic rocks from Western Foothills of Taiwan and Penghu Islands generated by intraplate volcanism during Miocene have been grouped as a Western Volcanic Petrological province of Taiwan. The alkali basalts from western Taiwan contain abundant megacrysts, granulites and mantle xenoliths that can provide a good opportunity to shed light on lower crust and upper mantle compositions underneath continent. On the basis of different lower crust and upper mantle xenoliths of granulites, spinel lherzolites and garnet lherzolites, the petrological section of continental lithosphere around Taiwan Region can be inferred.
