英文摘要: Several new zeolite assemblages were recently found to occur in the vesicles and fissures of the Neogene basalts in the vicinity of Hsin-jen on the Penghu Island. These amygdaloidal zeolites, namely thomsonite, scolecire, chabazite and phillipsite associated with clay minerals, calcite, aragonite were crystallized from the late magmatic aqueous solution and grown from the host rock wall toward the cavity center. Mineralogical, chemical and X-ray crystallographic data of these zeolites are provided. The kinds of these zeolites indicates that they have been formed in the environment deficient in silica, and this is consistent with the result of the petrological study of their host rocks. Zeolites in the present study were formed in the basalts which are higher (MgO+.SUMMATION.F/sub e/O) and lower SiO/sub 2/ in contents, and at the same time, are more coarse-grained and less porphyritic in texture than those of the basalts containing no zeolite but other minerals in vesicles. The amygdaloidal mineral assemblages which do not contain zeolite are also studied, and especially the genetical relationship to the amygdaloidal"Veined stone" (locally called "Wenshih") is discussed.

中文摘要:本計畫擬將鑽石高壓砧 (單晶樣品使用者)與四環單晶繞射儀配合使用以建立高壓單晶X光繞射實驗能力。本計畫並將利用此項能力從事礦物結晶在高壓下之X光繞射工作,利用所蒐集到的三度空間X光繞射峰強度資料,進行分析高壓下的礦物結晶構造。高壓晶相構造資料可提供我們認識礦物在高壓下的壓縮現象包括鍵結變化,彈性係數之求取以及晶相轉變、雙晶形成、析晶作用等。這些實驗結果對了解地函物質之化學組成與物理性質將提供重要而直接的訊息。本計畫第一年的工作主要在建立高壓單晶X光繞射實驗能力;第二年則將進行以澎湖玄武岩中高壓輝石偉晶為主的矽酸鹽類及氧化物類礦物高壓單晶繞射實驗;第三年計畫將高壓實驗擴及其他造鹽礦物如碳酸鹽等。
